I Believe in Kindness by Jillian Kongsjord
I believe in kindness. If there was no kindness in the world then the world would not even exist. We only exist because of kindness. If God wasn't kind to Noah's family then there would have been no human life on earth after the flood. Also the world would be consumed in sin if Jesus hadn't died, in love and kindness, for our sins.
Charities are built on kindness. The world today would be a lot worse off without charities like the Red Cross or Make a Wish Foundation. These organizations and others who work hard to make other people's lives better are truly kind and they don't even work for a profit. Even charities can't run unless people are kind enough to donate to them.
Just think how hard it would be to get through the day without kindness. There would be much more bullying in schools. No one would care enough to stick up for someone who was being bullied. No one would be kind enough to help people with problems like psychiatrists. People would go to their jobs just to get paid and put no effort into being kind and making friends. Employees wouldn't work well together and projects would be a lot harder to do with a group.
Without kindness the world would always be at war. If one country was having trouble, no one would bother helping them. The rich would do anything to get richer and the poor would do anything to get somewhere but no one would show enough kindness to help them get anywhere. Everyone would do anything possible to get where they want without caring who they hurt.
If there was no kindness there would be less holidays. There would be no giving gifts at Christmas or on birthdays. There would be no Christmas spirit either.
If there was no kindness there would be no homeless shelters. No one would bother to show even a little kindness to those less fortunate than them. There wouldn't be blood banks because no one would want to donate.
Just think what would happen to sports if there was no kindness. If someone fell no one would bother to help them up. No one would hesitate in injuring someone if it meant knocking out competition.
Kindness is a very important thing in this world. Someone who shows kindness to others is viewed by most as a good person and is better liked. People who are willing to take time to help others are kind. A kind person is helpful, unselfish and polite and courteous to others. I think that everyone should try to be more kind so this world can be a better place.
