Life is a Christian Journey by Ronald J. Royuk

I believe that my life is a Christian journey filled with milestones that are related and joined to my nuclear family.

Through the center of my journey of life runs a golden thread that guides my journey. The golden thread for my nuclear family is Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I received my golden thread at my baptism. It got a good polishing at my confirmation. Milestones and stop-overs were determined by sixteen years of Lutheran Christian education immediately followed by marriage to Elaine, my life partner.

By now everyone may have guessed that my journey destination is heaven. Now in addition to myself, I have a new responsibility, namely, to also do all I can to get my wife to the same destination with me. During the next ten years, three more were added to our journey party, sons, Brent and Brad, and daughter, Beth. Now I have the additional destination goal of the remaining three in our nuclear family.

My education trained me to spend my journey as a Lutheran Christian educator. Thankfully, Elaine, had a similar training. Our journey of life has almost totally revolved around family, church, and school. The golden thread remains. "Training up our children in the way they should go" has resulted in each of them with God's guidance, also choosing a Lutheran Christian education journey for their life's ministry. And now, from them comes six grand-children and the best part of the journey, RETIREMENT, with them also joining our journey.

Between family, churches, and schools, direct contact has been made with hundreds of youth who were/are on their own journeys. The satisfaction is always there that we have touched their lives with God's Word, and through the power of His Holy Spirit, they too, have the golden thread and many reunions are a very happy expectation at our destination.

It doesn't get any better than that! What a joy the journey has been! What a legacy to leave in the annals of history. Without any doubt: God is Good....All the Time!!! God bless you all!
