I Believe in Fashion by Emily Bohaty
Every morning when you get up one of the first questions you ask yourself besides what should I eat for breakfast, is what should I wear today? Not only is it the first question, but it is also one of the most important and exciting questions you ask yourself all day. I believe in fashion.
Your individual style shows who you are, and allows you to express yourself. It allows you to be creative too. Every once in awhile you may have the same shirt or jeans as someone you know, and wear it on the same day, but even so, you most likely will still add your own personal touch to the outfit; maybe it will be with a scarf, a piece of jewelry, or even just by wearing a different undershirt. No matter what, it is still your outfit and you get to choose how you wear it, which makes it unique. I believe in fashion.
It's a Saturday morning, and what are you going to do today? Go to the mall with your friends. Once you get there, you are surrounded by hundreds of stores. Most likely you and your friends have a similar style, or at least shop in some of the same stores. Shopping with people is an excellent way to bond, and it is a lot of fun! You get to be silly and try on weird outfits, but also you get other people's opinions about what you are considering buying for yourself. If your friends like the way something looks on you, you are more likely to feel confident in wearing it, which should also help you feel more confident in your personal style, and in yourself. I believe in fashion.
When you go out in public most events require different attire. For example, when you are in the middle of a corn field, detasseling you probably don't want to be wearing your adorable, white sundress with your brand new wedges, because they would get ruined. Or, when you are at a funeral, you wouldn't want to be wearing your SpongeBob pajama pants and an oversized, overused t-shirt, with slippers, seeing as that would be extremely disrespectful to the dead. Whether you think it is right or wrong, people judge you based on your clothing. If you saw that girl in the fields wearing the white sundress you would think, how dumb is she, and the guy in the pj's at the funeral would be thought of as rude. Wearing the correct clothes on each occasion, is beyond important. I believe in fashion.
In my opinion, fashion makes the world go round. It has been here since the beginning of time, and I don't see it going away anytime soon. It allows you to show your individuality, bond with friends, and dress appropriate for each situation. Fashion is one of the most important things in my life. I believe in fashion.
