I Believe in Sports by Nathan Pflueger

You know that good feeling you get when you make that big play in a game or you are a part of the winning team. Well that's not the only good thing that can come from playing sports. Sports can teach people many good things about life. I am in two sports which are baseball and wrestling. I also have very good grades which I think is partly from participating in sports. This is why I believe in sports.

First of all, playing sports keeps you in great shape. Being in shape is very important in many ways. If you are in shape it helps with weight problems and can help you live a longer life. You are also less susceptible to some diseases if you are in shape. When your body is in shape it is also able to fight off diseases better and faster than you could if you are out of shape. Your body can also recover faster if you are in good shape. Also if you are of good health you will be able to go more places and see more things than a person of bad health because it would be easier to travel if you are of good health. This is why I believe in sports.

Secondly, sports help with teamwork. Teamwork is a group of people working together to accomplish a certain goal. Teamwork is a very important skill because it is all around us throughout our lives from family to working at a job. Teamwork is also good because a team can get tasks finished that would have been too hard for one person to accomplish by themselves. Also many jobs want people who can work in a team well. Some places that require team work are hospitals, schools, and construction sites. This is why I believe in spots.

Lastly, the most important thing I think a person learns from sports is social skills. You learn social skills from sports by communicating with each other while you are playing. We all learned in class that speech is a life skill . Speaking is all around every day and if your social skills aren't very good it would be hard to get anywhere in life. If your social skills suffer it will be very hard to get a job and succeed. Social skills are required everywhere and for every job. This is why I believe in sports.

Today I shared with you why I believe in sports. The three reasons I believe in sports are health, teamwork, and social skills, but there are many other important ones besides these few. And you need all three of these skills to succeed in life and sports are a fun and easy way to learn them with friends. So the next time you are at a game, just remember you will be benefiting from it in many good ways. This is why I believe in sports.
