I Believe in Baseball by Kaleb Sermeno

What sport do you pitch a ball, hit it with a bat, and run around the bases? Well, i'm not talking about cricket if that's what you were thinking. I'm talking about baseball one of America's favorite pastimes. I believe in baseball because it's a great sport and it is fun.

I've played baseball for many years now. I play second base and i'm a pitcher. I've been pitching ever since I played in little league. I play spring ball, Legion ball, and fall ball. I also practiced in the winter, so it's a year round sport for me. Even though I do many activities with it, it doesn't get boring.

Baseball has two parts on the defense and one on the offense. The defense has the infield and the outfield. Ther are nine positions you can play on defense. On offense there is the hitter, and the base runners. You can have pinch runners, which is where you have someone off the bench come and take the place of the original hitter to run for him.

The nine positions that you can play are catcher, pitcher, third base, shortstop, second base, first base, left field, center field, and right field. These positions are all needed because if you didn't have one of these you would have a huge gap for the hitters to hit through and then they would score a bunch of runs on you. So all the positions are important. Baseball can be played in cold weather, warm weather, and hot weather. It can be played in almost every type of weather. The point of the game is for one team to score more points than the other team. This is done by getting batters around all four bases without having the defense catch it or throw you out before you get to a base. The defense has to stop the ball or catch it, and then throw it to a base to tag the person out before they get to a base. It's a very fun and exciting game.

In conclusion, baseball being one of America's pastimes, I think that who ever though of that had a great idea to do that. Noe we have the World Series, and Major League Baseball. If you don't like the sport of baseball I feel sorry for you because I think your missing something great. This is why i believe in baseball.
