I Believe in Video Games by Alex Siebrandt

It all started back in 1972 with the making of the first video game, Pong. The concept of Pong was very simple, hit the ball back and forth and try to score on your opponent. This simple concept stunned people. The fact that there was something that was interactive and would obey your commands was amazing to people. This is why when Pong first came out, it was such a huge success, and still is enjoyed by many people today. The simple concept of Pong has of course been modified and improved over the past thirty or so years, into the video games that we know and love today. I believe in video games.

Video games are a very important part of our culture. My favorite video game is the game Kingdom Hearts II. This game is very adventurous and creative. It is about a boy named Sora who is searching for his lost love Kairi. She was plunged into darkness after passing through the gate into darkness. He has to go save her from the clutches of the darkness and saves her so that she is able to return home. When he returns to his home, they are finally able to be together, when a message from the king arrives and he is forced to go and help the king on an important mission. Unfortunately, this is all I know because they haven't released the sequel to it yet! I am looking forward to the sequel's release as it is an extremely interesting game that is very easy to get in to, that is why I love it.

Video games are an important part of American society. Almost everyone I know has played some type of video game at some point in their life. People I have talked to that haven't played a video game before simply have not had access to a game or a console that can be used for gaming. These people say that they would like to try out a video game because it seems like it would be fun. I think that these people are missing out on a very important part of life.

Video games provide a constant source of entertainment. If it is to cold or to hot to go outside, you have your video games to play. Whenever you are just bored and there is nothing else to do, you could play your video games. Video games are extremely entertaining and fun. They provide entertainment when nothing else around you can.

I have been a gamer since the age of six and have enjoyed almost every minute of it. I like all genres, from skating it up with flip trick and grinds in Tony Hawk s Underground 2, to shredding on the guitar or dominating on the drums in Guitar Hero Van Halen. Video games have always been there for me and have always been an important part of my life. I have loved them for almost my whole life. I believe in video games.
