I Believe in My Car by Patrick Hinderks

I still remember the first car I ever fell in love with. It was a 1967 Mustang with a four barrel carb and intake. It had dual exhaust out the back and a five speed on the floor. It was cherry red with two fat pinstripes down the middle. This car was pushing over 550 horsepower. I believe in my car.

When I was 10 years old my dad said he would buy me a car for my 15th birthday. I was so excited, I kept dreaming of all sorts of cars I would love to have. I dreamed of some cars that would be different or cool and even cars that were really fast. The day of my 15th birthday I was so ready to get my first car, I asked my dad if I could run outside and see my new car and he said yes. I ran out the front door and there it was! A 1967 Mustang with a little bit of rust that my dad said I would have to restore before I could drive it, but I still loved it.

A couple of months later I started working on it because my birthday was in the winter and I didn't want to freeze working on my car. When it warmed up I got everything, the front clip, motor and interior gone. Then I ran out of money so I had to put it on hold. It's been in my driveway for the past two years. I still look out my window everyday and dream of what it's going to look like.

When I finish High School I will be going to college three weeks later. I am planning on restoring my car during that time. I'm going to fix the rust, rebuild the motor, redo the interior and put a nice stereo system in. This has been my dream for the past year and I am going to make it happen.

The first car I ever fell in love with was a 1967 Mustang. The first car I ever got was a 1967 Mustang. My dream is coming true and hopefully one day I can give this car to my child for their 15th birthday. I hope they will love it just as much as I have. I believe in my car.
