I Believe in Sisterhood by Hannah Troyer
I believe in sisterhood. That is I believe that all sisters can be the best of friends. The reason I say this is because I have two sisters, one older, one younger, who I have grown to love and admire. They are the friends who are always available to me. I can talk to them about anything including the cutest guys, the latest style of clothing, or the hottest celebrities. My two sisters, Ellie and Laura, have become the greatest friends I could have ever asked for.
Over the last few years my younger sister and I have become best friends through late night chats and random trips to Wal-Mart. Laura and I really started hanging out when I became a trouble maker. I was always grounded and had to stay at home so we would find something fun to do. On the weekends we drove to Milford Mini Mart and bought junk food to eat and rented movies to watch all night long. Along with watching movies, we would make pranks calls, apply make-up to our faces, and take funny pictures with our digital camera. Usually, if I was around, Laura was also somewhere close by. Laura has really helped me through my last years of high school. At least once a week we stay up late talking about amusing happenings at school and the crazy stuff I did on the most recent Friday night. Laura would listen and laugh, but I just can not wait until I am able to hear all the stuff she is able to do. Laura truly is my best friend in the whole wide world, and I would do anything for her, just like she would do anything for me. Along with Laura always being there for me, I also have my older sister who helps me out in many ways.
Ellie is twenty-three years old, attending college at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, and lives at home. Although Ellie lives at home, on the weekends she is usually staying with a friend in Lincoln or busy working. Some weeks I barely see her, with my going to school and working, and her being with friends on the weekend, but we always find time to talk and catch up. The one thing I will remember doing with Ellie is taking road trips up to Chambers to see her boyfriend for the weekend. Since this trip was three hours long, we would talk about school and where I would be going to college. I learned a lot about Ellie on those road trips. While in Chambers we would challenge each other to guitar hero, eat at the local bar, and show off on the dance floor when ever there was a dance. Those are some good times I would remember forever and cherish always. Ellie also had a role in my trouble making days. When ever she could, she would cover for me and try to help me out when it came to our parents. She would always talk to my mom and try to convince her that I did not have to be grounded for a full month. Ellie is an awesome girl and I am glad that she is my sister. Even though we are both growing up, I think we will stay best friends forever and always be there for one another.
I believe in sisterhood. I have two fantastic sisters that I would not trade the world for. Even if we sometimes fight and do not always love each other, we are sisters no matter what one of us says or does. As time goes on, and each of us grows, we learn something new about the other. My sister may not be the perfects ladies in the world, but I love them, for their perfections and their flaws.
