I Believe in the Cross of Christ by Mike Vincent
I believe in the cross of Christ! Lately there are more and more of those little white crosses on the sides of highway. You'd think the transportation department would mow right over them, but they don't out of respect for those who placed them there. The crosses mark the location where someone died in a tragedy. They're different than tombstones.
Tombstones are somewhat fascinating. They mark the location where a body is buried. They include an inscription about the person deceased. It's involving to roam through a cemetery and read about those who've died. But those white highway crosses are shocking; they silently scream, Watch out! Please slow down. Someone died here! The crosses often carry a name, and it's obvious loved ones miss their deceased friend(s) dearly. Even when you flash by at 70MPH on the Interstate, you can feel their passion.
Christians should wear the cross regularly. Their jewelry and their cross-bearing lifestyles are like those highway markers. They say, A very dear friend died here . Crosses speak volumes about Christ's life. They proclaim loudly, Slow down and take notice! We miss our loved one and look forward to seeing Him again soon. His was the most important life and death in the history of the world.
